TVC E. MOVIES – Popular Nollywood film maker Kunle Afolayan is of Igbomina-Yoruba descent, from Kwara State.
He is the son of the famous theater and film director cum producer Ade Love.
The graduate of economics started out working with a bank while doing some casual acting, before deciding to move into full-time film making.
He took a course at the New York Film Academy before setting up his own film school ‘Cap Film Academy’.
Since 2005, he has been active in the Nigerian film industry and has made several popular films including: The Figurine: Araromire which was in the Yoruba and English languages and Phone Swap which featured Nse Ikpe Etim and the legendary Chika Okpala.
The Figurine won five major awards at the African Film Academy and experienced tremendous success in at Nigerian movie theaters.
In an exclusive chat with TVC News, Kunle Afolayan disclosed that Figurine was the most challenging job he ever did because it was a new phase, followed by Phone Swap.
When asked about his dress sense he said: “I wear what i think suits me, i cant be changing clothes every time, i am not a celebrity.”
