Cocoa merchants urge FG to halt double taxation

TVC E, BUSINESS – The Nigerian Cocoa Produce Merchants want government to stop the double taxation policy it introduced last year.

The merchants in Ondo state south west Nigeria believe government needs to adjust the new tax policy to ensure that cocoa merchants make profit at the end of the year.

The General Secretary of the Association, Oyeleye Adebayo also urged the federal and state governments to encourage farmers and merchants by providing soft loans for them.

Ondo state is currently the leading producer of Cocoa in Nigeria.
