TVC E, SPORTS – Top seeds Rafa Nadal and David Ferrer are still on course for a final showdown at the ATP Rio Open after both progressed to the next round.
Top seed, Nadal beat fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro 6-3, 7-5. Nadal will meet unseeded Alexandr Dolgopolov in Friday’s quarter final.
Ferrer, meanwhile needed three sets to get past Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
The second seed faces fifth seeded Austrian Dominic Thiem next.
