TVC E, NEWS – Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe has been challenged to put the money set to be raised for his upcoming birthday party to good use by securing food for Zimbabweans facing acute food shortages.
President Mugabe would be celebrating his 92nd birthday on February the 28th, at Mucheke stadium in Masvingo, with the organisers hinting they plan to make this year’s celebration the biggest of them all.
But the Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe said it would be embarrassing for Mugabe to hold a lavish party in Masvingo as the province is one of the nation’s hardest hit areas by drought.
Mugabe is known for hosting lavish birthday parties, last year, he spent at least $1m, with various businesses and prominent people donating for the celebration.
