TVC E, POLITICS – Thousands of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in Benue State including a former deputy governor, Steven Lawani have defected to the All Progressives Congress.
The defectors who also included two former ministers, Prof. Jerry Agada and Sam Ode; former federal permanent secretary, Mike Onoja and Senator Godwin Okpe were received by the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun on Saturday in Oturkpo.
Oyegun said the new APC members who are from the Benue-South Senatorial District could not afford to be in the opposition, while urging them to join mainstream politics.
Oyegun, used the medium to urge the people of the state to support the APC-led administration of President Mohammadu Buhari and Governor Samuel Ortom, in diversifying the economy through agricultural innovations.
