The Presidency has again said President Muhammadu Buhari has not withdrawn the 2016 Budget from the National Assembly.
Reacting to reports on Social media, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu said Nobody except the President can withdraw the budget and as far as he knows, the President hasn’t done that.
He stated that the copies in their hundreds have been delivered to both chambers of the National Assembly.
Shehu said, by tradition, once the budget is submitted, it ceases to be the property of the executive.
He further tweeted, that all enquiries should be directed to the appropriate quarters.
President Buhari had presented the N6 trillion budget in December to a joint session of the National assembly where the Lawmakers also promised to hasten the passage of the bill.
