TVCE (sport) – Following the Eagles’ 1-1 draw with the Tunisian counterpart on Friday, former Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mallam Sani Toro has urged the Super Eagles’ Chief Coach Sunday Oliseh to work more on the mobility of the players in their next match against Guinea in the ongoing Africa Nations Championship holding in Rwanda.
Although the former lawmaker said that he was impressed with the team’s performances so far in the two matches they have played, the team’s gaffer needs to bring urgency to the way the players react in match situations.
“When a team played two matches, win one by a wide margin 4-1 against Niger Republic and got a pulsating 1-1 draw in the second match against a highly rated side like Tunisia then we can’t say such team has not performed well. So they have done well so far. But they must not rest on their oars to ensure we continue to progress further in the competition.”
“The area that I believe the Chief Coach should work more on is the response of the players on the pitch and most importantly mobility. When a team is mobile such team always looks very dangerous and unstoppable. Most times the players don’t respond on time and always caught napping. They need to be very mobile to beat their opponents which I want them to be against Guinea a country that poses another big threat to our quest to win the competition.
“I am confident that the boys will respond and play their best game against Guinea to move to the next stage of the competition,” Toro assured.
