Jafaru Isa is an ex-military governor of Kaduna state
TVC E, NEWS – Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, EFCC has arrested a former military governor and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Jafaru Isa.
Isa, who is described as a political associate of President Muhammadu Buhari was arrested by operatives of the commission on Wednesday at 9:30 PM, local time.
TVC News’ correspondent Sifon Essien reports that it’s not yet clear why he was arrested.
Sources within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission say its in connection with the alleged diversion of the $2.1 billion meant for arms purchase by officials of the immediate-past administration.
Isa is the first chieftain of the APC arrested by the EFCC since the beginning of the sweeping probe into the arms fund scandal popularly called Dasukigate.
He is a close friend of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, the principal character in the scandal.
