TVC E, NEWS – It was like a joke when the news of the death of , Agbogidi Akaeze Edward Ofulue 111, the Obi of Ubulu-Uku in the hands of hoodlums that kidnapped him a few days ago first broke.
But sooner than later, what sounded like a fairy tale became a reality when the spokesperson of the Delta State Police command, Celestina Kalu confirmed it.
Thousands of machete and stick wielding youths took to the streets of the town to protest against the gruesome murder of the monarch on Friday.
The enraged youths prevented visitors, including TVC News Crew from entering the community during the protest.
Kalu a deputy superintendent of police DSP had appealed for calm, vowing that the perpetrators of the dastardly act will be brought to book.
She revealed that four persons found with the handset of the late monarch are already helping the police in their investigations.
But the Police image maker’s appeal seemed to have fallen on deaf ears as angry youths took to the streets to show their ire.
Some of the demonstrstors who spoke with TVC News vowed to continue the protest until every person directly or remotely connected with the murder is arrested and punished severely.
