TVCE (ABUJA) – Wife of the Nigerian president, Aisha Buhari is calling for the restructuring of the governors wives forum, in order to re-position it towards contributing to the growth and success of the country.
She made this known at a meeting organised for wives of state governors, at the Presidential Villa on Monday.
TVC’s Kemi Balogun reports that on the front burner of the meeting is the pathetic situation many displaced citizens find themselves in various internally displaced camps across the country as well as the plight of women and children.
The meeting which has in attendance twenty five wives of governors from various states is intended to restructure the governors wives forum to provide a platform for supporting their husbands towards achieving a successful drive for development.
It is hoped that the Northern governors wives forum(NGWF) and the southern Governors wives forum (SGWF) will emerge with distinct activities to help foster help for the less privileged
Wife of Nigeria’s president Aisha Buhari says she believes in their own little way, they can assist to take help to those who need it the most.
Wives of some of the governors are keen on seeing that the resolutions from this meeting are implemented at even the state level .
The issues they have in common range from girl child education, maternal mortality and others
After two closed door sessions for more than two hours, the resolutions reached they say will help to strengthen the areas that are lagging behind.
It is hoped that the plans and advocacy already put in place by some of the wives of the governors will be all the more successful with the help and collective effort of the Forum
