Nollywood actor and director, Fred Amata has joined the race for the seat of the President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria.
Amata joins popular producer and director Lancelot Imasuen as the candidates vying for the position currently occupied by Andy Amenechi.
“Dearest colleagues. film makers, film enthusiast and film stakeholders, my name is Fred Amata. permit me to formally inform you that I am running for president of the Director’s Guild of Nigeria. the Directors Guild of Nigeria is by its nature the Apex guild in our phenomenal Nollywood,” Amata said while unveiling his decision to run.
He noted that the guild currently needs a visionary leadership that can spearhead reforms and harness the collective power of the individual strengths in the guild.
“A stronger DGN is a stronger environment for the practice of our art. I implore you to pray for me and support me towards this noble aspiration. God bless,” he said at his campaign secretariat.
Fred is from the Amata clan, one of the biggest families of movie makers in Nollywood.
