TVC E, SPORTS – Veteran sports presenter and analyst, Mitchel Obi has described the coach of the male senior national team, Sunday Oliseh as “too innocent” to handle the Super Eagles.

Obi, who featured on TVC’s weekly sport programme, Obi said he has never hid his views about Oliseh, saying Eagles would have won their last group stage game against Guinea at the ongoing Championship of African Nations, CHAN, but for the coach’s inexperience.

” Oliseh is too innocent to handle Super Eagles. If he was experienced enough, Eagles would have won their game against Guinea.

“If the boys were allowed to play the game the way they wanted to play it, they would have won. Even the Guinean coach said they over rated us, meaning they were disappointed by what they met.

“I think something went wrong in the technical team and if Oliseh was experienced enough, Eagles would have won their game against Guinea,” Mitchel Obi stated.

Oliseh had shortly after losing 0-1 to their Guinean counterpart, apologized to Nigerians, but blamed the Eagles’ failure on lack of motivation.

The home based Eagles failed to qualify for the CHAN’s second round after losing 0-1 to Guinea.

Tunisia and Guinea qualified from the group with five points each.
