Omawumi is proud to say she is the 12th child amongst 14 children. Her mother shaped her to the Artiste, Songwriter, Entertainer that we know.
Her law degree did not deter her passion for music, she describes it as a way to empower and communicate with people.
In her interview with TVCconnectMeets, she spills the beans about how she got Angelique Kidjo. “I wrote play na play in 2013, and sang the song to cohbams and i said i wanted to feature Angelique kidjo on the song, it was blind faith”
She used all the contacts she had to reach Angelique Kidjo but it was so shocking to her that the people you would expect to have Angelique’s contact didn’t at all.
Finally she got Angelique through a booking agent for shows in Africa, and from that day she made up her mind that she would never let her go.
